American Ambassador to Maldives and Sri Lanka, Amb Atul Keshap met with convicted former Maldivian president Mohamed Nasheed on Tuesday.
The meeting took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka where Nasheed made a stop on his way to UK for surgery.
Keshap tweeted that he met with Nasheed on Tuesday and discussed a wide range of interesting subjects with him.
He also welcomed Maldivian government decision to permit Nasheed to travel out of the country for his surgery.

Nasheed’s brother, Dr. Ibrahim Nashid signed documents on behalf of Nasheed’s family to act as a guarantor that he will return back to the country after medical treatment.
