Case of MPs being injured will be submitted to IPU: Eva

Macchangolhi Uthuru MP Eva Abdulla has said that Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Parliamentary Group Members were injured during the unrests on 7 and 8 February, and that these cases will be submitted to International Parliamentary Union (IPU).
A statement on MDP website before Eva departed to participate in IPU Annual Assembly says that in addition to the injuries caused to MPs on 7 and 8 February, cases of Police brutality will also be submitted to IPU’s Human Rights Commission.
In addition to Eva, Maafannu Uthuru MP Imthiyaz Fahmy and Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP)’s Felidhoo MP Yoosuf Naeem will participate in IPU’s 126th Annual Assembly in Uganda.
IPU was formed in 1976 to protect the human rights of parliament members around the world.
