President Muizzu Vows Action on Angolhitheemu’s Development Concerns

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to address key grievances raised by residents of Angolhitheemu, Raa Atoll, including harbour expansion, erosion control, and the acceleration of stalled development projects.
In a meeting with the Angolhitheemu Island Council, Women's Development Committee (WDC) and senior heads of institutions at the island as part of the President’s ongoing visit to North Maalhosmadulu Atoll, the President was briefed on the most pressing issues faced by the island. This included the issue of harbour expansion, water and sanitation network, erosion, and expediting the work on the fitness and recreation centre of the island. The Council also appealed to expedite the work on the visitor’s centre and to commence the construction of the T-jetty, as well as the addition of a multi-purpose hall for the school.
Addressing the meeting, the President assured that the concerns raised would be addressed and solutions would be sought.
During the meeting, Cabinet Ministers accompanying the President also provided updates on ongoing development projects in Angolhitheemu.
