Maldives and India have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening their longstanding bilateral partnership, following high-level talks between Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam and India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
According to the Foreign Ministry, both the Ministers reviewed the longstanding partnership between the two countries and reaffirmed their commitment to continue working closely, both bilaterally and in international fora, on priority areas of mutual interest.
During the discussions, Minister Iruthisham also acknowledged the close cooperation between Maldives and India and expressed appreciation for the ongoing socio-economic development projects facilitated through Indian grant assistance and line of credit initiatives.
The visit marks Minister Iruthisham Adam’s first official trip to India since assuming office, undertaken at the invitation of Dr. S. Jaishankar.
