President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom Sunday hailed 2016 as a successful year in achieving key government pledges.
In his new year message to the people, president Yameen noted that 2016 had been a year of peace and harmony while meaningful action was taken on several fronts to fulfill the basic needs of the people.
Additionally, the President highlighted that in 2016, various development projects were initiated throughout the country including youth empowerment; specifically with added employment opportunities.
In his message, the President expressed his hope that in 2017 the development projects begun in 2016 would be completed.
