Maldives Police Service reported that a dead body was found in a house in Gan, Laamu Atoll.
According to police, the deceased is a Maldivian male of approximately 40 years.
Additionally, police disclosed that there were no external injuries on the body, which was in the state of rigor mortis.
The authorities also reported that the man was visiting Gan for holiday purposes.
At present, the body is being kept at Gan Regional Hospital.
Further details were not revealed, as investigations are ongoing.
