Bangladesh Chief of Army Staff General Abu Bilal Mohamed Shafiul Haq has said that Bangladesh will always remain as a development partner of the Maldives.
He pledged Bangladeshi assistance to the Maldives, especially in the military, higher education and training additional doctors and technical experts.
The Army Chief expressed his desire to create business and health sector ties, as well as deep sea fishing expertise from Maldives to Bangladesh. He thanked the Maldivians for the warm welcome he had received upon arrival to the country.
Chief of Defense Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam said that the Bangladeshi army personnel were extremely talented and skilled and that Maldives required that level of talent and skill. Therefore, he added that participation between two armies was vital.
