MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed and Adaalath Party president Sheikh Imran Abdullah، who were incarcerated for their provocative speeches on Mayday event، had been brought to Malé for medical attention.
Both men were given a 15-day remand following their incarceration. The remand period had expired and Ali Waheed was granted a further 7-day period in remand while Sheikh Imran Abdullah was given a remand of 10-days.
While both men had been brought to Malé and transported to Medica Hospital، the reason for the medical attention had not been clear. However this would be the fourth time Ali Waheed has been brought to Malé for medical urgency.
Previously Ali Waheed had been brought to Malé for an MRI scan on his spine.
Ali Waheed’s advocate Husnu-Suood had earlier disclosed that his client’s condition was poor and he had problems with his liver and spine، while testing procedure had not followed suite.
