The Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Moosa Zameer, stated yesterday that the development of the airport and land reclamation in HA. Dhidhdhoo will transform the island into a vital hub for the north, leading to higher incomes and an improved standard of living for its residents.
The Minister made these remarks while speaking at a ceremony held on the island to officially launch the reclamation project required for the Dhidhdhoo airport, housing projects, and other essential services.
Zameer highlighted that this project is a significant part of the national effort to empower island communities and bridge the gaps in accessing services.

The Minister noted that this is a results-oriented project aimed at bringing positive changes to the lives of the people.
“Land reclamation is not just about increasing land area; it facilitates easier access to services, strengthens public infrastructure, and will benefit not only Dhidhdhoo but also the neighboring islands,” the Minister said.
