“Walk and Talk” programme conducted in Greater Male’ Region

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has conducted A “Walk and Talk” programme in the Greater Male’ Region, encompassing Male’, Villimale’ and Hulhumale’, to promote a crime-free and safe community.
According to Maldives Police Service, the event aimed at strengthening cooperation and trust between the public and the police. As part of the event, the police met with residents of the island and listened to their concerns and exchanged views.
Discussions focused on issues that could be resolved jointly and ways to improve police services. Both sides talked about activities that could be carried out together in the community to help reduce crime.
Speaking to PSM News, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Shifan said police engaged across 100 different areas across the region. Additionally, MPS said 250 senior police officials were engaged in the programme.
The MPS “Walk and Talk” programme is conducted across the nation.
