President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm congratulations to Sushila Karki on her appointment as the Prime Minister of Nepal.
In his message, President Dr Muizzu noted the historic significance of her appointment as Nepal’s first female Prime Minister, describing it as a proud milestone. He wished her success in fulfilling the responsibilities of her new role.
The President affirmed that the Maldives regards Nepal as a valued bilateral partner and expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would continue to strengthen under her leadership.
He concluded his message by extending his personal best wishes for Prime Minister Karki’s good health and for the continued peace and prosperity of the people of Nepal.
Karki, 73, previously served as Nepal’s Chief Justice, becoming the first and only woman to hold the post. Her appointment as Prime Minister follows the resignation of KP Sharma Oli and the formation of an interim government.
