In a social media post, the President said the tragic events caused by severe weather conditions in Southeast Asian countries serve as a stark reminder of the escalating impacts of climate change. He said the Maldives mourns the loss of life and extensive damage caused by the severe weather affecting Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
In his post, the President also expressed his condolences to Chinese President Xi Jinping and families of victims of the deadly fire in Hong Kong, which has resulted in a significant loss of life.
