China and Maldives are geographically located far away but in relations strong and close: Wang Fukang

Chinese Ambassador to Maldives Wang Fukang have said that China and Maldives are located far from each other geographically but the relations between the two countries are very strong and close.
Speaking at the ceremony held to officially begin the development work of the second runway of Velana International Airport, the ambassador said that both Maldives and China are similar in the sense that people of both countries are keen to attain development.
In addition he said that after the visit of the Chinese President to Maldives in 2014, China has been conducting various projects in Maldives. He said that the projects are being conducted perfectly and that is why new projects are being started.
Furthermore, he said that Chinese Urban Construction Group, the company contracted to develop the runway is a capable and a resourceful company. He said that hence the work will be finished as per the schedule.
The ambassador said that everyday new relations form and strengthen between Maldives and China.
Chinese companies are developing various housing units across the country and various other developmental projects are being conducted in Maldives with Chinese assistance. The largest projects ever conducted in the Maldives are the bridge project and the airport development project. Both projects has a considerable amount of Chinese assistance both financially and technically. These two projects alone are worth $ 600 million, 10 billion Maldivian Rufiyaa.
