Speaking at the opening ceremony of an art exhibition depicting the power transfer, Nasheed said the events surrounding the regime change should be investigated in order to understand the truth and take it as a lesson for future generations. Nasheed, who resigned amid a police mutiny and weeks of anti-government protests, said such an investigation would help the development of the country. The former president noted that the drawings by local artist Hussein Ifal ‘Iffa’ Ahmed at the exhibition show scenes “engraved in my heart” and that he remembered every second of it. “I am certain that these scenes are linked to many people as well,” he said.
