President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom have decided to start a 3-year project to revive love for Islam and the nation among students of Maldives. The special project will start on 1st march.
Speaking to the press at the President’s Office, Defense Minister Adam Shareef Umar said that the purpose of the project is to retain peacefulness and harmony in the country. And also to create a society that loves Islam and the country.
The minister said that through this program, information about Maldivian history, culture, national hero, islam, Islamic culture will be provided to the students. He said that this will be carried out using the latest technology and in ways that will be interesting for the students.
The president formed a special committee to implement the project. Members of the committee are, Defense Minister Adam Shareef Umar, Education Minister Dr.Aishath Shihaam, Home Minister Azleen Ahmed, Islamic Minister Dr.Ahmed Ziyad, Chief of Defense Force Ahmed Shiyam, Chancellor of Islamic University Dr.Shaheem Ali Saeed, Abdullah Farooq, Ibrahim Khaleel and Abduh Rasheed Hussain. Abduh Rasheed Hussain will coordinate the whole project from the President’s office.
In addition, a technical committee is to be formed to assist this committee. Adam Shareef said that they have finished making a road map to implement the project.
