UN’s Assistant General Secretary and UNDP’s Assistant Administrator for Asia and the Pacific region، Haoliang Xu will visit Maldives tomorrow.
UNDP informs that the visit of Mr. XU is made to hold dialogues with the governments’ high level officials.
During the visit from 10th to 13th of April، he will attend the Penal Code Conference and as well he will visit an Island from Kaaf atoll.
Ms. Shoko Noda، Resident Representative of UNDP Maldives stated that Mr. Xu’s visit comes at a critical time، while the Government of Maldives and the UN are in the process of formulating the next five-year plan for the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF).
Ms. Noda further said that this will be Mr. Xu’s second visit to the Maldives. In this visit، Mr. Xu will meet with senior government officials، including the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
