Housing unit works are under progress، says Minister Muizzu

Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu confirms that construction process of building housing units at Addu City Hithadhoo has commenced، our correspondent at Hithadhoo reports.
Scarcity or insufficiency of lands or land-plots has been a prime issue which had arisen recently، proving to be a vast inconvenience to the people living across Maldives. Government aims to relieve its citizens from the complication of land scarcity by providing housing units and land reclamation projects in order to increase space to accommodate the growing population.
Addu City Feydhoo faces the affair of minimal land space to lodge the growing population in the island.
A planned housing project of 50 units at Feydhoo is still stagnant over the insufficient land space، thus adding the housing units into Hithadhoo’s project porfolio of a total of 264 units built، according to Housing Minister.
“Housing unit construction process is advancing at a fast pace” said Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu، speaking with Vaguthu Online.
Feydhoo constituency member Mr. Ibrahim Didi confirms the land reclamation project focused on the island will commence shortly in a near future، while Housing Minister added to the story stating the project will cost around MVR 20 million as expense – stating the reclamation project is the biggest aimed at the City so far.
In addition to this Housing Ministry has already commenced works on renovating and rebuilding Feydhoo harbor as well as laying road bricks at Hulhudhoo.
