We do not want foreign parties to visit Maldives to debate on internal affairs- President

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that he does not want foreign parties to visit Maldives to debate on internal affairs of the nation.
He made this remark speaking at the ceremony held at Kalhuthukkala Koshi to celebrate the 123rd anniversary of Maldives National Defence Force.
The President said that Maldives is an independent and sovereign state regardless how small it is. He said that the courts of law does not need foreign approval to implement their verdicts. He said that the government will implement court verdicts and foreign influence will not be accepted to interfere in these internal affairs.
President Yameen said that the government will govern according to the constitution and Islamic laws.
“I do not want foreign parties to visit Maldives to debate on these internal affairs of our sovereign nation,” he said.
In his speech, President Yameen said that despite differences in political views, for a nation to maintain its nationhood, everyone must unite in matters of independence, nationality, and sovereignty of the country. Continuing in this regard, the President called upon everyone to respect their nationality.
He also pointed out that we must not let any foreign influence interfere with our independence and sovereignty.
