Nazim requests his case to be held in open court

Former Minister of Defense Colonel-retired Mohamed Nazim has requested the case against him for possession of a firearm to be held in open court.
The request was made in a letter to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom and the Prosecutor General (PG) Muhthaaz Muhsin.
The letter claims that some of his rights are neglected due to the current procedure of the case. Nazim said the evidence against him in the case is fabricated and it is violating his rights.
He says that the PG is not protecting his rights so the only way he can be assure of it would be to have the proceedings in open court.
Regarding the matter, PG’s office said the location of the proceedings is decided by the court and they have no objection to continue the case in open court.
And that have the court proceedings in the public’s eye is the best way.
