President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the spirit of courage and resilience embodied by the nation’s fallen heroes, who confronted their enemies and fought to their final breath, will endure eternally within the nation. He made this statement in a post shared on X in observance of Martyrs’ Day.
In the post, the President paid tribute to the enduring memory of soldiers who were martyred defending the nation, as well as those who fell in the line of duty.
Commemorating 482 years since the martyrdom of Sultan Ali VI, the President expressed confidence that each generation will continue to give rise to heroes who emulate the heroism of Sultan Ali VI and uphold the honour and glory of the Maldives.
The President concluded his post by expressing his hope for the Maldives’ enduring independence, under the abundant grace of Allah.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also shared a post on X, paying tribute to the heroic legacy of Sultan Ali VI and extending Martyrs’ Day greetings to all citizens.
