Kyrgyzstan beats hosts Maldives 3-1 sets in the final of the Cava Cup 2025, to lift the 2025 iteration of the women’s CAVA cup.
This year’s final match between the Maldives and Kyrgyzstan was held in Maldives’ capital, Male’ city. The match played at the indoor court of the Social Center was graced by the Maldives’ First Lady, Sajidha Mohamed.
During the match, Maldives picked up the first set 20-25. Kyrgyzstan recovered quickly, securing the second set 25-22. Kyrgyzstan consolidated their lead after picking up the third set 25-17. The final set saw both teams play under immense pressure. Kyrgyzstan eventually came on top, securing the final set 25-21.
Individual honors were bestowed on the top performers of the tournament at the end of the final match. Maldives’ Hawwa Rasheedha and Kyrgyzstan’s Nurzhamal Bolotbekova, were jointly awarded the Best Outside Attacker of the tournament. Maldives’ Aminath Shahaa Shamin was awarded the Best Opposite Player, The Best Middle Blocker was awarded to Kyrgyzstan’s captain, Saikal Amirakulova and Maldives’ Nareema Idhrees. Maldives Joozan Zareer was awarded the Best Setter Award. The Best Libero was awarded to Kyrgyzstan’s Aseema. Kyrgyzstan’s Nurzhamal Bolotbekova was also crowned the Best Player of the Tournament.
Bangladesh was placed third in this year’s CAVA Cup.
