Maldives received a donation of 1500 tonnes of mineral water from China.
The water was donated by the people of Xizang Autonomous Region of China.
The donation was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer from China Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Lixin at a special ceremony held on Thursday.
The water will be distributed across the islands to address water shortages when such issues rise, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister highlighted the continuing friendship between China and Maldives, especially in times of need and crisis.
