Delegates arrive in Maldives ahead of Asia Media Summit

Representatives and delegates for the Asia Media Summit are arriving in the Maldives ahead of the event.
The summit is being organised by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) in collaboration with Public Service Media (PSM). The event will take place from 11–14 May at Villa Nautica Resort, with more than 200 delegates from Asia-Pacific countries, including senior broadcasting and media officials, expected to attend. This year’s theme is “Maldives 2.0: From Tradition to Tech”.
The final preparations and arrangements for hosting the summit are underway. While five pre-summit workshops will be held on 11 May, these will focus on AI tools in storytelling and news production, importnace of AI technology, maintaining media credibility in the AI era, and media’s role in climate change adaptation.
The official opening ceremony of the summit will be held on 12 May, with plenary sessions continuing through 13 May. The summit will conclude on 14 May with a special coral planting event in Kudagiri.
The summit aims to strengthen cooperation among broadcasters in the Asia-Pacific region, discuss responsible and future-focused broadcasting, set development goals, and maintain bilateral relations in the media sector.
