Police have concluded investigating the case of discovering dangerous weaponry at the residence of former Defence Minister Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim، and sent the case to PG Office for prosecution.
Though the charges pressed against the former Defence Minister remain undisclosed by the authorities، the case was sent for prosecution on Monday.
Police investigated the case of finding a hand gun، bullets and a home-made improvised explosive device at the private residence of minister Nazim.
Police raided the residence of the minister upon a court order on 18th January 2015.
Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim was dismissed from the position of Minister of Defence two days later. President’s Office stated he was dismissed due to an ongoing Police investigation on him.
The allegations on Minister Nazim were all denied by his lawyers team. The lawyers team stated the dangerous claimed to found at the residence of the minister are not associated with the Minister or his family members.
Nazim was summoned to Police for questioning on 7th February 2015. Though Police said he was summoned for questioning regarding an ongoing case، Police did not disclose any further information.
