The Maldives Bodyboarding Association (MBBA) has officially sanctioned a budget of USD 900,000 for the current year, confirming plans to host the highly anticipated "Maldives Pro"an event long awaited by local athletes.
The budget was approved during the association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on at’ Henveiru Boalhage’. The proposed budget, totaling USD 929,457 was presented by MBBA Vice President Ali Ibrahim. The meeting proceeded with a valid quorum of 13 voting members.
Passed with unanimous support from all members, the budget designates the largest portion of expenditure towards the "Maldives Pro" stage of the IBC World Tour and the National League. Furthermore, substantial funding has been allocated for the "Hudhu-Fonu" national training program aimed at nurturing new talent, as well as for technical development and administrative operations.
The AGM was attended by representatives from the Maldives Olympic Committee and the Office of the Commissioner of Sports. During the session, the association also presented its annual report and audited financial statements for the preceding year.
During the annual general meeting, MBBA has divulged its activities for the current year. A representative from the Maldives Olympic Committee and the Sports Commissioner participated as an observer.
Speaking during the meeting, President of MBBA, Hussain Nizam highlighted the achievements of the past year.
