Public Service Media (PSM) has been appointed as the media partner for Maldives’ Civil Service Conference 2026.
The agreement was signed on behalf of PSM by it’s Managing Director Ahmed Shakeeb and on behalf of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), by it’s President Mohamed Mujthaz.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, CSC president Mujthaz said that the commission bears the responsibility to be an independent, skilled and technologically savvy commission. He highlighted the responsibilities of the commission including employment, redundancies, proposing remuneration frameworks and implementing disciplinary guidelines for all civil servants. Building human resource capacity to provide a fair and quality service under an independent strategic plan is a key objective of the commission, he said.
The civil service conference in a bi-annual conference held by the commission to research and plan how work is being carried out by the commission, understand the steps to be taken to enhance its services and provides a platform where key issues can be discussed and a roadmap can be formulated. The conference has been held since 2014, with this year’s iteration to be the fifth conference held under this structure.
The CSC President revealed that this year’s theme for the conference is “Future Ready Responsive Governance: Empower People, Embrace Agility and Enhance Services” The conference includes deliberations on important topics and will be attended by 250 participants and commission expects to receive 15 research papers from the conference.
PSM Managing Director Shakeeb highlighted previous partnership endeavors with the commission on previous iterations of the conference. The contemporary innovative topics up for debate at the conference are important and valued information for PSM, he stated.
The CSC stressed the findings of the conference and provides them with key insights to further improve their services. And this is what makes the conference special. The commission also elaborated that findings from previous conferences have been included in changes that the commission has brought over the years. One such example is the flexi-guidelines introduced by the CSC, which were extensively discussed at the last conference.
This year’s conference will be held from 7 to 9 June.
