The Civil Court has mandated Sibco company to remit a large smount to RaajjeTV.
This judgment stems from a lawsuit initiated by RaajjeTV concerning Sibco's outstanding payments for services rendered.
According to the Civil Court's ruling issued on Monday, the dispute pertains to financial obligations incurred by Sibco for services obtained based on a quotation provided by RaajjeTV in 2021.
The agreement, formalizing the quotation sent in January of that year, was subsequently executed in the following year. However, a settlement review revealed an unpaid balance amounting to MVR 378,900.
Sibco duly received the legal documents pertaining to the lawsuit filed by RaajjeTV but failed to submit a response or appear in court. Consequently, in Sibco's absence as the defendant, the case proceeded to judgment.
Presiding over the case, Civil Court Judge Aishath Azfa Abdul Ghafoor ordered Sibco to pay MVR 378,900 within a period of one month, in addition to MVR 10,800 to cover court costs.
The lawsuit was filed in the Civil Court in March of this year.
