The National News Agency (NNA) has officially launched a new platform aimed at providing content and resources to private media outlets across the Maldives.
The initiative was jointly launched on Thursday by Public Service Media (PSM), the President’s Office, and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Art. A total of 20 media outlets, including Sun Siyam Media, signed partnership agreements during the ceremony, with more outlets invited to join.
Speaking at the launch event, Youth Ministry State Minister Ali Shamran said the agency will facilitate access to PSM’s video and photo content, as well as materials from events covered by other media outlets.
PSM Managing Director Ibrahim Nasreen described the move as a step toward strengthening private media. He added that discussions are underway to include content from international media partners working with PSM.
The launch marks a significant milestone in media collaboration, with the NNA positioned to serve as a centralized source of verified content for newsrooms nationwide.
