President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed his Government’s commitment to acknowledging the vital and unparalleled role nurses play in delivering healthcare on a daily basis. He made these remarks in a special message marking Nurses Day, observed today.
The President stated that the Government would actively listen to the concerns of nurses and take appropriate action. He also emphasised that improving the benefits available to nurses would be a key priority.
In his address marking Nurses Day, the President extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to nurses, recognising them as individuals who shoulder one of the most demanding and honourable duties serving humanity around the clock.
He further highlighted that the nursing profession entails significant responsibility and encompasses many aspects. He described the work of nurses as noble and deeply rewarding, not only through their invaluable contributions to society but also in the form of goodwill and heartfelt prayers from those they serve.
Additionally, the President shared a congratulatory post on social media in honour of Nurses’ Day. In it, he noted that hospitals welcome patients for treatment, but it is the dedicated nurses who remain at their side until recovery and discharge. By caring for so many with compassion and a smile, nurses carry out a duty that brings pride to the entire nation. He wished Maldivian nurses continued progress and success.
