The Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay to the Maldives, His Excellency Fleming Raul Duarte Ramos, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador was escorted to the President’s Office from Republic Square in a cultural procession, “Haiykolhu," accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
The President and the Ambassador discussed potential areas of collaboration, including trade, economic development, education, and tourism promotion. Special emphasis was placed on enhancing cooperation in sports and recreation, as well as promoting people-to-people exchanges to strengthen cultural understanding and ties between the two countries.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together to explore new avenues of cooperation that would contribute to the mutual prosperity and well-being of both nations.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Paraguay were established on September 28, 2010.
