After failure to resolve outside the court, the fingerprint case goes to court

After failing to find a solution to the case brought up by MDP and DRP to the Civil Court saying that the order to put fingerprints on the political party membership forms back when the party system was first introduced, the case has gone to trial.
Civil Court made the decision today a special meeting today after state refused the proposal of MDP and DRP.
MDP and DRP requested the court to rule in favor of them and declare that the order by the Elections Commission to put fingerprints on the party membership forms back when the fingerprint was not necessary on the form is against the Constitution.
Secretary General of MDP and lawyer Anas Abdul Sattar said that the Elections Commission has taken the wrong meaning of the Law of Political Parties.
He said that because of that decision by the Elections Commission, some political parties are on the verge of disbandment. And it would cost MDP 23,000 members.
It has been quite some time since the Election Commission ordered to put the fingerprints on the old forms.
Member of the Elections Commission, Ahmed Akram said that that they have previously notified that parties with less than 3000 members would be disbanded.
