Commanding Officer of Bangladesh Navy Ship BNS Somudra Joy، Captain Wahid Hasan Kutubuddin has paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Defence and National Security، Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim. 
The meeting was held at Bandaara Koshi on Saturday. Minister Nazim extended gratitude on behalf of the people and the Government of Maldives to Bangladesh Government and Military for providing assistance during the water crisis in Male’.
He also  extended gratitude to the crew of BNS Somudra Joy for providing water assistance to alleviate the residents of Male’ amidst the water crisis.
Minister Nazim and Captain of BNS Somudra further discussed regarding the means of strengthening the long-lasting ties of friendship between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by the Director of Department of International Defence Cooperation and Policy of Ministry of Defence، Brigadier General Ahmed Shahid.
Bangladesh Government contributed 100 tonnes of bottled water and five reverse osmosis plants to Male’، following the water crisis due to the fire at MWSC on December 4th، leading to a complete disruption of water services in Male’.
