Kelaa Becomes the Third Island in Haa Alifu Atoll to Officially Launch Maldivian Passport Services

As part of ongoing efforts to provide accessible Maldivian passport services to the residents of Haa Alifu Atoll, passport services have been officially launched in Kelaa, an island within the atoll.
With this development, Kelaa has become the third island in Haa Alifu Atoll to offer this service.
Maldives Immigration stated that the service was officially commenced in Kelaa on December 13th, as part of their nationwide initiative to expand Maldivian passport services.
Immigration further revealed that, with this expansion, individuals requiring passports from Haa Alifu Atoll now have the option to choose from three islands as ‘collection points’ for their passports. These include Dhihdhoo and Ihavandhoo, which previously offered the service, and now Kelaa. Applicants can now select any one of these three islands to collect their passports.
The establishment of this service in Kelaa will significantly ease the process of obtaining passports for many residents living in Kelaa and its neighboring islands.
The government is continually expanding passport services to various islands across the Maldives. Most recently, this service was launched in Shaviyani Milandhoo last week.
