Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, Chairman of Sun Siyam Group, was conferred the Golden Sail of Distinction, the highest accolade of the Global Peace Institute, at the Global Peace Hospitality Awards 2025 held at the Hyatt Regency Dubai.
The gala, hosted on October 9 following the Global Peace Hospitality Summit, celebrated 85 global leaders and institutions whose work exemplifies peace-led leadership, innovation, and service across ten sectors.
Siyam was the only individual to receive three major honors during the evening, affirming his legacy as a pioneer of Maldivian hospitality and a global peacebuilder through tourism.

● Lifetime Achievement Award in Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation
● Golden Sail of Distinction, the summit’s highest honor
Described as the ‘Elon Musk of the Maldives’, Siyam was recognized for transforming the Maldives into a luxury tourism destination through his visionary resorts, and for his decades of public service as the longest-serving Member of Parliament.
His leadership in sustainable tourism, youth empowerment, and philanthropy was celebrated as a model of peace through enterprise.

The awards also acknowledged Siyam’s role as the highest individual taxpayer in the Maldives, and his contributions to media and communications through his national television network.
