The closing ceremony of the “Ufakaara” training programme, aimed at improving food safety and hygiene standards, was held in Malé City, with the First Lady, Sajidha Mohamed, attending as the chief guest.
The Ufakaara training programme is designed for those involved in preparing and selling food, with the objective of enhancing food safety and hygiene practices. At the ceremony held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Health, Family and Welfare, a total of 19 participants successfully completed the programme.
Certificates were presented to the participants by the First Lady, Sajidha Mohamed. In addition, certificates were also awarded to 17 facilitators who contributed to conducting the training programme.
The Ufakaara programme, which focuses on building the capacity of individuals involved in food preparation, was initiated in 2017 by the Maldives Food and Drug Authority. So far, the programme has been conducted not only in the Greater Malé Region but also in Lhaviyani Atoll, Meemu Atoll, Kulhudhuffushi in Haa DHaalu Atoll, Velidhoo in Noonu Atoll, Fuvahmulah City, Laamu Atoll, and Faafu Atoll.
The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Health, Family and Welfare, Geela Ali, along with senior officials from the ministry.
