Three State-Owned Companies Awarded Contracts to Complete School Projects on 18 Islands

Three state-owned companies have been awarded contracts to complete unfinished school infrastructure works across 18 islands. The contracts, valued at USD 7.4 million, were awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Fenaka Corporation Limited and Road Development Corporation Limited (RDC).
MTCC was awarded the contract to complete the unfinished work in schools in 15 islands, while RDC will handle incomplete school projects in two islands. Fenaka Corporation will be completing the pending school work in one island.
MTCC will carry out works in the following islands:
- Molhadhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll
- Nolhuvaranfaru, Haa Dhaalu Atoll
- Neykurendhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll
- Bilehfahi, Shaviyani Atoll
- Innamaadhoo, Raa Atoll
- Dhuvaafaru, Raa Atoll
- Kudarikilu, Baa Atoll
- Mathiveri, Alifu Alifu Atoll
- Gaadhiffushi, Thaa Atoll
- Vaadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll
- Maarandhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll
- Gulhi, Kaafu Atoll
- Madifushi, Thaa Atoll
- Naivaadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll
- Maavah, Laamu Atoll
RDC will handle projects in Maalhos, Alifu Alifu Atoll and Fenfushi, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, while Fenaka will complete pending school projects in Veyvah, Meemu Atoll.
The agreements were signed by the Minister of Education, Dr Ismail Shafeeu on behalf of the government at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education on Monday. The agreements were signed on behalf of the Fenaka Corporation by its Managing Director Major (Retd) Mohamed Najah, while RDC was represented day its Managing Director Brigadier General (Retd) Ali Zuhair. MTCC’s Managing Director (Retd) Deputy Commissioner of Police Ahmed Saudi signed on behalf of the company.
