The play-off matches between the second-placed teams of each group have begun today to secure the last place in the semi-finals of the of the Futsal competition of Tourism 50, Mila Uthuru Sports Fiesta 2022, organized by the Shaviyani Atoll Council with the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism.
Komandoo, who had lost the first match of the play-off, and Goidhoo, who finished second in Group B, met in the second match of the play-offs on yesterday. The match was played at the Narudhoo Futsal Ground yesterday evening and Goidhoo won the match 2-1. Ibrahim Rifaz of Goidhoo team, was selected as the best player of the Match.
Goidhoo and Naradhoo will take on each other in the final play-off match today. Those wining team will confirm the last slot of the semi-finals. The match will be played at 1630hrs today at the Feydhoo Futsal Ground. The final match of the tournament will be played on 19th of this month.
In addition to the Futsal tournament, Mila Uthuru Handball Tournament for women from Shaviyani Atoll is also scheduled to be held at the fiesta. The handball competition, which was participated by 10 teams from 10 islands of Shaviyani Atoll, will begin on November 21.
