Funadhoo has won the Futsal competition of Tourism 50, Mila Uthuru Sports Fiesta 2022, organized by the Shaviyani Atoll Council with the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism.
The final match of the tournament was played at the Naradhoo Futsal Ground yesterday evening and Funadhoo defeated Narudhoo 4-0 with ease to win the tournament. Funadhoo won all their matches in the tournament. Ibrahim Aisam from Funadhoo team was selected as the best player of the final match.
The final match of the tournament was officiated by the Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom. President of Sh. Atoll Council Mohamed Shiyam, members of the Atoll Council attended the ceremony.
Top five players of the tournament are; Ahmed Athif from Narudhoo, Mohamed Shan from Kanditheemu, Abdulla Zameen from Funadhoo, Ismail Shafiu Narudhoo, and Ibrahim Rifaz from Goidhoo. Top scorer of the tournament is Moosa Saneeh from Noomara. Most promising player of the tournament is Ahmed Fain Mohamed from Feydhoo. And Ismail Shafiu from Narudhoo was selected as the King of the tournament.
In addition to the Futsal tournament, Mila Uthuru Handball Tournament for women from Shaviyani Atoll is also scheduled to be held at the fiesta. The handball competition, which was participated by 10 teams from 10 islands of Shaviyani Atoll, will begin on November 22.
