Police: M. Kuriruhge was searched in the MMPRC case
Maldives Police Service has said that a search was conducted at M. Kuriruhge with a court order regarding the case of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC). Police conducted about an hour-length search at M. Kuriruhge in an alley near the M. Cessna, a building the security forces has previously conducted a search at regarding the firearms found on B. Hibalhidoo in the Presidential Launch investigation. And the Police neither confirmed nor denied that they seized anything from the house. The Sun Photographer in the area during the search, Yousuf Sofwan said that he did not see any items being confiscated from the house. Regarding the explosion on the Presidential Launch in September, a special operation was conducted on the night of 16 October where the Police and MNDF entered the office of MMPRC and conducted a searched after which some items were confiscated from their office. And two weeks ago, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) also entered MMPRC to investigation a corruption case. While the Audit office is set to audit MMPRC as per the President’s request, a number of cases about the company have arisen including large amounts of money related cases and import of a gunpowder container by deception. And the Managing Director of MMPRC is currently under arrest regarding a case being investigated by the Police.
