The National Social Health Insurance System, Aasandha, upgraded their service portal and introduced a new portal, Vinavi. The nationwide portal connecting all Aasandha service was inaugurated in the Alifu Dhaalu atoll at Mahibadhoo by the Health Minister, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim. While the new Aasandha portal, Vinavi, is active in the Alifu Dhaalu atoll, the project to connect the Aasandha e-portal nationwide began in August 2016. The new e-portal would send different information including medications and diagnosis from the health centers across country would be sent to the Aasandha Head Office. And with different statistics readily available, it would make different medical decisions easier and significantly reduce the use of paper. Informing the media on Vinavi, the Assistant General Manager of Aasandha, Hussain Zahid said that the e-portal introduced today was intended to introduce new services. He said that that before the inauguration, the health centers in the atoll went through a four-day training program on the new portal. Zahid said that the new e-portal would be in use nationwide within three months. Zahid said that the new portal would be expanded to the international offices of Aasandha after Vinavi is established in the country.
