Youth have proven the they can unite the whole nation of Maldives، through the “Maldives with Palestine” rally to show concerns against Israel’s brutality against Palestine، says the organizer of the event، Hamna Hameed.
After the rally، in an interview with “Vaguthu.mv”، Hamna said that even thought Maldives is divided due to politics، they have shown unity to show concerns for Palestine and pray for them.
“Even thought this country is divided due to politics، it is proven we are united for such a great purpose. And us youths wanted to show that we can join hands to do such events to unify the country. Our goal has truly been achieved”، said Hamna.

Hamna said that the number of people who attended the rally is far more than what the organizing team thought it would be. Also that they got immense support from everyone.
“Never thought that such a huge crowd would show up. Al’hamdhu lillah. Thank you to all those who participated in the rally and those in the other islands who joined us through prayers”، said Hamna.

Hamns said that they planned to have more events other than the prayer، but since many children and women participated they had to end the rally with the prayer، at a late time. However، she said that they will place more events as such، to show Maldives’ support for Palestine.

Nearly 14،000 joined the “Maldives with Palestine” rally. Children، elderly، people with special needs، and men and women of all ages participated.  Also، some of political and entertainment icons also participated in the rally.
