Chairperson of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Ali Waheed has said that world class lawyers are coming in defence of former President Mohamed Nasheed because he is not a terrorist.
Speaking at last night’s rally from the “Maldivians against tyranny” movement, Ali Waheed said that the government will now be shocked that world class lawyers are coming in defence of President Nasheed.
“Not only the people of Maldives. But the whole world believes in President Mohamed Nasheed,” he said.
Meanwhile, last night the Police tried to stop Ali Waheed twice from talking by requesting to remove the barricades for vehicles to continue entering the area where they were holding the protest.
When the protestors move towards west from the Majeedhee Magu, some of the Police entered into the crowd.
Former Defence Coordinator Mushrif and some others were arrested last night at about 11:00.
