Kendhoo constituency MP Ali Hussein has said that development and progress of the nation can be brought by increasing the state capital.
He said that the budget passed for next year is MVR 24.3 billion but yet the capital is very little compared to the budget.
“The capital is about MVR 6 billion. Only MVR 6 billion from the MVR 24.3 billion,” he said.
Ali Hussein said that a larger portion of the state income is spent as subsides and recurrent expenditure.
“I am not against subsidies. However, my problem is when subsidies are given to those who do not deserve it. Justice is to differentiate between the levels of people when giving subsidies. Justice is to give it to only those who deserve it,” he said.
Ali Hussein said that giving Aasandha to all equally is not justice. “There are those who are wealthy. They should not be given Aasandha or subsidies,” he said.
