Home Minister Umar Naseer has stated that Maldivian Police were notable service persons and that their service was remarkable on a regional scale.
Speaking in the ceremony held in Iskandhar Koshi last night to mark Police Memorial Day, Minister Umar stated that Maldivian Police were highly professional and that their service has been noted as one of the best in the region.
Minister Umar stated that Maldivian Police attained the highest accolades in the training and courses they undertake and that this has been noted by the regional partners. He added that Home Ministers of other nations have noted that this. Minister Umar said that this was a source of pride for him.
Minister Umar appealed to the senior members of the Force to reflect on the present compilation of Police force. He added that Police have to be members who did not engage in conflicts with civilians unless necessary. Therefore, he stated that it was vital that there was a civilian force engaged in certain police activities.
