Maldivian Rufiyaa 52 million has been received to the Zakat Fund in the year 2014، stated Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
In a news conference held at Islamic Ministry on Thursday، Minister Shaheem said that the amount received to the Zakat Fund in the year 2014 is the highest amount received for the Fund so far.
“2014 is a historic year، to receive the highest amount ever to receive for the fund. Zakat Fund received Rf. 52 million.” Minister Shaheem said.
Minister Shaheem further noted that such a high amount was received for the fund as more and more Maldivians are aware to the fundamentals of Islam، and the strong trust and cooperation of the local citizens extend to the Islamic Ministry and the Government.
In addition، Minister assured that the money will be distributed to the rightful people before the beginning of Ramazan.
