Shaviyani Foakaidhoo Council has announced that the Council will award a separate prize of MVR 10000 for any winner from the atoll from the “Enme Ali Gadha Thari” competition.
The Council made the announcement in the celebrations held in the island to mark the third consecutive win for the atoll from the competition and the win for Adam Naseem in this year’s tournament.
Foakaidhoo Council Vice President Ahmed Asif said the prize was offered to incentivize such individuals to cultivate their talent. He said the Council wished to see such talent foster in the atoll.
Additionally, the Council had offered an Umrah trip if the winner is from Foakaidhoo. He said this year’s winner Adam Naseem will be awarded a prize money as well.
Winners Abdu Rasheed and Adam Naseem had expressed their sentiments in the ceremony held.
Asif said last night’s ceremony was a colorful one with many citizens attending the ceremony. He added that this Eid was one of the most significant Eids for the atoll.
