MDP condemns Police for not initiating investigation on petrol douse case during last night protests

MDP condemns Police negligence of initiating investigation to identify and detain individuals responsible of disrupting MDP-led protests، and attacking protesters with petrol and diesel as well as damaging their properties.
A statement released by MDP today states a group of individuals continue harassing and intimidating MDP protesters، bearing butcher knives and other weapons، while the assailants had attacked participants on various levels، including dousing demonstrators with petrol and diesel as well as inflicting damage on MDP-owned or used properties and equipments during their rallies.
MDP accuses these harassment and intimidation acts are pioneered by the current government.
The statement also highlights the police officers acting on a biased nature، and not taking any necessary action against the assailants even though they had continued to harass and attack civilians on various occasions. MDP also stressed that Police officers had proceeded to arrest the women in the demonstrations instead of making arrests of the assailants.
“Protester do not receive adequate security and protection from Police officers” the statement read.
MDP accuses the groups are in cahoots with government due to Police allegedly not taking any steps against the individuals even when they keep harassing protesters and damaging properties and equipment during every protest، and if arrested with proof and evidence against the assailants، police do not hold them in custody and instead releases them almost immediately.
