Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will be visiting Turkey next week.
Turkey President announced the Crown Prince visit after the Friday prayer and said that the visit will strengthen the bond between the two countries.
Turkey President further said the Crown Prince is scheduled to visit Turkey on Wednesday June 22nd and he will be welcomed by President himself at the Ankara Presidential Palace. And that a team from Saudi is currently in Turkey to oversee the visitation arrangements.
In the visit the two countries will discuss advancing Turkish-Saudi relations to a much higher degree. Association Press informed that more details regarding the visit will be given by Turkey senior officials.
It is the Crown Prince’s first visit to Turkey since the brutal killing of famous Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Saudi Embassy at Istanbul. The killing of the journalist shocked the world and the relation between two countries took a heavy blow.
First time after the killing of Khashoggi, President Erdogan visited Saudi in April and met Crown Prince before travelling to Mecca.
Due to the surge in inflation of Turkey, renewed ties with Saudi will open up new venues to financial backing to Turkey other than Western monetary institutions. In the visit number of agreements are scheduled to be signed.
After his visit to Turkey, Crown Prince will be visiting Cyprus, Greece, Jordan and Egypt.
