Bank of Maldives (BML) Board of Directors has decided to pay a full year dividend of MVR 15 per share for the year 2013.
The bank has already paid an interim dividend of MVR 9.29 per share and a final dividend of MVR 5.71 will now be paid. This was decided by the board and announced by the bank in a press statement on Wednesday .
The total amount to be paid to shareholders amounts to MVR 80.7 million, which is the highest dividend pay-out by the bank to date. The bank made a profit of MVR 662 million in 2013.
The Maldives national bank has not paid a dividend during recent years but for comparative purposes, a dividend was last paid in 2009 at MVR 9 per share, a total of MVR 48.4 million and in 2008 at MVR 10 per share, a total of MVR 53.8 million.
