JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim’s legal team have said that, Qasim is arrested to obtain evidence in a case against him awhich Police don’t have any evidence according to the Police made this statement in the remand hearing held today.
Hisaan Hussain of Qasim’s legal team said that it is unconstitutional to detain someone to obtain evidence. Hisaan said that the court ordered to obtain evidence within 6 days and to present it to the court.
Hisaan said that the lawyers requested to move Qasim to house arrest after presenting papers related to his health. The judge ordered the police to detain Qasim in a place with proper ventilation. Hisaan expressed concerns based on how police have acted in the past based on their intelligence reports.
People are worried since a lot of people know how the intelligence reports regarding the “pen drive” found from Colonel Nazim’s house was used to convict Nazim falsely.
